What is PTO?

The PTO at GSCM exists to support our school community through service, connection, and stewardship. We work to strengthen the partnership between families, faculty, and staff by organizing volunteer opportunities, coordinating community events, and leading fundraising efforts that directly benefit the school.

Who’s on PTO?

Every GSCM parent or guardian is a valued member of the PTO. Whether you have time to help with one event or get involved regularly, your participation helps build a vibrant and supportive environment for our children to grow, learn, and thrive.

The PTO is led by a volunteer board made up of parents who help plan events, support fundraising efforts, coordinate committees, and serve as a bridge between families and school leadership. Current board roles include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Volunteer Coordinator. The board meets regularly to keep things organized and aligned with the needs of our school.

Whether you join the board, volunteer for an event, or lend a hand behind the scenes, there’s a place for you in the PTO.

Why Volunteer?

Not only does volunteering benefit our school, teachers and children, but it also benefits you! Volunteering gives us as parents an opportunity to create relationships with other parents. It allows us to use our gifts and talents to contribute to the school community, and it keeps us connected with our children’s teachers and the school as whole.

Ways to Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved at GSCM—whether during the school day, after hours, or even from home. We ask each family to volunteer at least three times during the school year. Your time and talents, in whatever form they take, help build a stronger community for all of our children.

  • Sign up to lead one of our many events throughout the year
  • Volunteer at school events
  • Support events behind the scenes
  • Join a PTO committee…or LEAD a committee!
  • Offer your professional skills (graphic design, baking, spreadsheets, etc.)
