Parent Involvement

Volunteerism is part of our culture

Chances are when you visit The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori (GSCM), you’ll meet some of our parents – they’re here a lot! Helping in the classroom, chatting in the foyer, making copies in the staff room, sharing lunch with their children, monitoring recess, and visiting at pick-up time are just a few of the reasons that bring our parents to GSCM every day.

Volunteerism is an important part of our school culture. It strengthens the parent-school-child relationship, and it provides important services to the school that support its mission and help control tuition costs. There are many opportunities to get involved at GSCM – both on site and though volunteer time at home. Each family serves the school in at least three roles each year. These opportunities vary in the amount of time required – from heading a PTO committee or running a school-wide event to baking a batch of cookies or counting walkathon laps. There’s something to fit everyone’s skill-set and schedule at GSCM.

The unique and well-rounded experience our students enjoy at The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori is made possible by our parents’ generous involvement in their children’s education – thank you!!!
