Families
The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori recognizes that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. In addition, the family is the central core of social life. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “The Chrisitan family constitutes a specific revelation and realization of ecclesial Communion, and for this reason it can and should be called a ‘domestic church’” (CCC, 2204).
Families are invited to participate in annual school events, attend weekly liturgy, and visit the classrooms for observations. In addition, parents are invited to attend annual parent orientation sessions, parent/teacher conferences, and regular parent education events to help build a strong partnership between home and school.
