The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori (GSCM) is located in the Madison Place neighborhood of Columbia Township, Ohio, on a 13-acre campus. Serving over 200 students from Preschool through 8th Grade, GSCM provides an education that is both deeply Catholic and authentically Montessori. Our mission is simple: Always Catholic. Authentically Montessori. Helping children grow in wisdom, age, and grace. We are the only school in the area to offer both a fully implemented Montessori program and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS), integrating faith formation into the daily life of the child. With approximately 50 dedicated faculty and staff members, GSCM fosters a collaborative professional culture within a supportive and engaged school community.

Position Overview
GSCM is seeking a part-time After Care Assistant to support our after-school program for the 2026–2027 school year.

The aftercare program serves children ages 3–10 in a mixed-age setting. This role works alongside another adult to provide a safe, structured, and engaging environment at the end of the school day. Students participate in a balance of play, enrichment activities, and quiet work time.

This is a part-time position. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 3:00–5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Support a safe, structured, and welcoming aftercare environment
  • Supervise indoor and outdoor activities for a mixed-age group 
  • Assist with snack time, transitions, and daily routines
  • Maintain accurate attendance and dismissal records
  • Communicate with parents and collaborate with aftercare staff to support student well-being

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to engage and supervise a mixed-age group (ages 3–10)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Reliable, organized, and attentive to student needs
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to meet Archdiocese of Cincinnati SafeParish requirements
  • Successful completion of a background check prior to employment
