The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori School is dedicated to providing an outstanding education to children ages three to fourteen in a Catholic atmosphere faithful to the Magisterium of the Church.  Using the philosophy and techniques of the Montessori approach, including religious education through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, our goal is to enable each child to develop as a well-integrated human being: spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally.

This Mission has a foundation and two pillars.

The foundation is the Catholic faith, which guides our every decision in a way that is always faithful to the magisterium of the Church.

The first pillar rising from this foundation is the Montessori philosophy. Guided by the wisdom of Maria Montessori, we know that a child is not a vessel to be filled with knowledge but a gift to be nourished as they unfold and grow. We believe the Montessori method is the best way to help a child learn and grow in a way most suited to each stage of their development from infancy to adolescence.

The second pillar is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). We are one of the only schools in the country that fully integrates CGS with the Montessori method. We believe God and the child have a unique relationship with one another. Children need their own place to foster the growth of that relationship. The growth of this relationship is assisted by the adult, but is directed by the Spirit of God within the child.

Here at GSCM, we assist parents as primary educators of their children and strive to provide an authentic witness that helps each child to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. Through weekly Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours, monthly benediction, a dedicated adoration chapel, and the many celebrations of our Faith throughout the seasons and feasts of the year, we live liturgically at GSCM and provide families with resources to do the same in their domestic churches.
