A Light on the Hill: Supporting Our Mission

A Light on the Hill: Supporting Our Mission

Dear friends,

High upon our hill here in Madisonville, a light shines. This light is a beacon of faith and knowledge that guides children towards Jesus Christ. The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori (GSCM) has always stood as more than a school; it is a lifestyle; a community rooted in the Gospels and alive with the joyful discovery of each child’s God-given potential.

We are proud to be among a small number of schools in the country, and the only one in our region, to integrate the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd with the Montessori philosophy. This unique charism nourishes children in a profound and personal way. I have witnessed that our school helps parents pass along their most important inheritance – the Faith – not only into a child’s mind, but deep into their heart.

It is known that a child who receives solid religious formation in grade school has a better chance of keeping their faith in high school, college and beyond. In today’s world, where manifold distractions attempt to pull us away from our relationship with God, our Mission could not be more critical.

As the world becomes more complex and digital, GSCM remains steadfast in its focus: to form children who live with moral courage, guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church. We are a low-tech school where students get outside, use their hands, and become good decision-makers.

But mission takes money. We cannot fulfill our mission without your help. Each year, the tuition gap (currently $2500) continues to grow. This is the difference between what we charge and what it costs to educate. This gap grows because we desire to keep GSCM accessible to families who desire to join our community; even as we ensure that we pay our teachers well, maintain our facilities, and have enough support systems in place to help GSCM to thrive into the future.

This year, thanks to the kindness of an anonymous donor, we also have a $50,000 lead gift in the hopes that it will inspire others to radical generosity. We have momentum. Will you help us? Please prayerfully consider the gifts that God has given you, and how you can make a return to Him through the mission of GSCM.

Yours in Christ,
